About this piece
Badami means 'almond'. On a super-fine almond-taupe ground, a delicate jaal of lilac and ivory flowers covers the field. Towards each end, a row of square cartouches embroidered in gold, rust and sage sits within a deep border, like a band of jewels. This is a larger 2.5 gaz shawl, embroidered with silk, and generous enough to wrap fully or wear as a stole.
