About this piece
Shahi Bagh means 'the royal garden'. Across a powder-blue field, flowering branches, blossoms and leaves in rose, saffron, teal, olive and indigo spread in a lush all-over pattern, enclosed by a wide ivory border of scrolling flowers. The ends carry a row of paisleys above bands of colour, completing a shawl as rich as a Mughal garden.
